Story
In May I am cycling and camping from Black Dog in Devon, catching the ferry from Plymouth to Roscoff before heading down the West coast of France, up over the Pyrenees to Santander in Northern Spain. Then its the ferry back to Plymouth and back over Dartmoor to Black Dog.
I had just started to plan my trip when the brother of a good freind of mine, Tony Spink was knocked off his bike and killed by a lorry driver. The driver was finally charged last week - Causing death by dangerous driving plus attempting to pervert the course of justice, faliure to stop at an accident, failure to report an accident and driving over the regulated hours (tacograph offence).
In my opinion, these types of 'accident' occur far too often- in a world full of pollution and too many vehicles, cyclists- using the most efficient form of transport known to man deserve much more respect and protection.
So, I've chosen a charity - RoadPeace that both offers support for people like my mate, who has lost his Brother, and also campaigns to try and make our roads a safer place.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Roadpeace will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Many thanks for your support.
