Our personal message:

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.  As you will probably know by now - I've reached the half century! - unfortunately, most of my hair didn't make it but that aside - I have decided to celebrate(?) the milestone by raising some money for Charity and at the same time getting rid of my double chin! So I will be walking the whole of the SouthWest Coast Path - which goes from Minehead to Poole or vice versa - over 1000km in total - within my Birthday Year.  After much deliberation over WHICH of the many worthwhile Charities to support - I have chosen one which works in areas that I have a close affinity to - The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation  - so I hope you approve of my choice. If you are not familiar with the charity - please have a look at   http://www.davidshepherd.org/video/dswf_video.html    and their main website is also very informative. Some of their work has been featured in the BBC's Saving the Planet series. Also - because they are reasonably small - a large proportion of money raised actually reaches the right places as opposed to funding massive marketing campaigns and administrative costs.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So - I would really appreciate your support  -  think of me in the middle of Winter in the pouring rain when I have just missed the last bus from a remote Cornish Tin mine and am down to my last 5 Mars Bars!

I will probably bore you with a regular Walking update Blog and a few piccies - just to prove that I really am doing it !

My walk STARTED on AUGUST 2nd from Poole, which officially is the end - but, as I like to be different, I am going to do it from both ends and meet somewhere in the middle!

If anyone wants to walk a section with me - you will be more than welcome!
