Phil Tracey,s London To Paris Bike Ride 250 Miles in 3 Days(April 2016)

I wanted to start raising money for The Brain Tumour Charity and my friend and fellow foster carer, Phillip Sargent when he was diagnosed with a brain tumour back in May 2015. Sadly, only just over two months from diagnosis, Phil passed away, suddenly and unexpectedly and is greatly missed. My wife, Sian was also was diagnosed with a tumour back in the mid 80's and after prolonged treatment was given the all clear, brain tumours can develop at any age which is frightening . Little is known as to why brain tumours occur and why they are so unpredictable. Money raised for The Brain Tumour Charity would not only go towards much needed research but also in supporting victims and their families. I have over the past ten years run two London Marathons, numerous half marathons and over the past year triathlons raising money for various charities. I also have to mention FCA carers, staff, non carers and myself who took part in the Abergele to Bromsgrove ride last year for the Rees Foundation. After two days on our bikes we arrived early evening to a great welcoming party, amongst them were Phil and his wife Lynne. They were on there way back from a weeks holiday and decided to take a detour to FCA head office to support all the riders. A lovely gesture and the mark of the man and his good wife. So it was only fitting to dedicate this bike ride to Phil, a kind, ever helpful person and devoted family man and i hope money raised will aid in the eventual prevention and cure of this deadly disease. In return for you kindly sponsoring me for the ride, if you make a donation of £10, i will put your name into a draw for a weeks holiday at the family home on the island of Fuerteventura to be used after April 2016. The draw will take place in Paris after the ride is completed.
Thank You And Good Luck.
