Story
In September 2013, I remember it like it was this morning, my mum calling too tell me my cousin may have Leukemia. At first I was sure she was mistaken as she is the healthiest, fittest person I know, barely even gets a cold, biceps bulging while doing simple tasks such as combing her hair, I also just had a missed call from her and thought my mum must be joking but who would joke about that? Unfortunately it was true and I remember feeling so helpless and frustrated wondering why it had too happen too her, why not me I thought? She has two beautiful children under 5 it just wasn't fair. This was a big wake up call for me. I thought If this could happen too her it could happen too anyone. The amount of people around me who were then affected by others being diagnosed with various other cancers was shocking and in most cases they haven't survived. After 34 days in hospital and months of treatment and tests I am so happy too say she whooped Leukemia’s behind and is even more annoying than usual and I wouldn't have it any other way! Cancer comes and claims lives when it feels like, we have too keep fighting! I am running this race too show my support and gratitude too these charities as it has been long overdue and it's the least I can do.
