Story
Yippee!!! Its all over! Just 3 hours and 26 minutes of pure.............hell? Well, it was for the last 6 miles, but the first 20 were strangely enjoyable - it must be old age!!
And, in typical fashion I crosssed the line, announced my retirement from marathon running and breathed a sigh of relief that I don't have to do that again - next target, breaking 2 hours 50 minutes either in Nottingham in Spetmeber or London in 2004!!! MAD.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored me this year, a whacking £1,700 in the end - so well worth running at £66 per mile! And to all those lining the route - those shouts of encouragement really help!
The hair also survived the day, but has faded to a strange orangey/brown colour (attractive!) but, like running the marathon, it seemed like a good idea at the time!
So thanks again, look out for me in London, Sunday April 18th 2004!!
