Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page!

On 12th June 2009, the Pink Panthers of Lashkar Gah (LKG) BROKE the Guinness World Record for the furthest distance run in 24 hrs by a team of 12 women. They ran a total of 317.66Km -  56.74Km further than the previous record. Location: Helmand Province, Afghanistan.

The ladies are from from the Headquarters of 19 Light Brigade (whose emblem is the Panther) and are currently serving in Afghanistan, based in LKG. The team comprised females from the Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, and Army, as well as a 'token' (but very talented) civilian.

The aim of this challenge was to raise funds for the Afghan Appeal (see separate Justgiving page: www.justgiving.com/pinkpanthersaa ), a charity set up to promote awareness of the plight of the Afghan people, and for BLESMA, which supports all those ex-Service men and women who have lost limbs or the use of their limbs.

Although the event is over, this Just Giving page will remain open until September - it's not too late to donate!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Afghan Appeal Fund gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
