The Pinpoint Prostate Cancer Appeal is raising funds to purchase specialist equipment for Blackpool Victoria Hospital, which will detect and pinpoint precise images of the sites of prostate cancer.
This will radically improve the diagnosis and subsequent treatment of prostate cancer for patients across the Fylde Coast. It also means that local patients will no longer have to travel to Manchester to undergo certain procedures.
Prostate cancer kills over 10,000 men each year in the UK, but if detected early, there is every chance of making a full recovery.
We are delighted to have been selected as Charity of the Year by the organisers of the Beaverbrooks Blackpool 10K Fun Run and Radio Wave. A big thank you to them and everyone who has helped us raise over 50% of our target so far.
