The King’s Trust supports 11 to 30 year-olds who are unemployed or struggling at school to get their lives on track. Many of the young people we support are in or leaving care, have been in trouble with the law, or they are facing challenges such as homelessness or mental health issues.

Story

This year, I'm managing a project to raise £40,000 for The Prince's Trust. So after badgering other people for months to fundraise I thought was about time I did something people myself!

Although my 10 mile walk is relatively small, it's part of a bigger organised programme of events that I am supporting the organisation of and if it's raining, 10 miles in a wet Leatherhead really won't be fun!

The Prince's Trust are a great charity. I've seen first hand the support they provide when young people have "fallen through the net" for a variety of reasons - background, illness, personal circumstances, exclusions from school. They give young people confidence to get their lives back on track where other attempts - family, schools, agencies etc. may not have been so successful. I've been really moved on numerous occasions, hearing stories from people who had their lives turned around by the charity and they continue to support around 60,000  young people every year.

Mostly, we're lucky enough not to have friends and family that have needed their support but if we ever do, or for those that already do, it's great to support a charity that does so much for the next generation.
