On 18 June 2009 I will be saddling up and taking part in a challenge of a lifetime riding a strange horse across Mongolia to raise funds for HorseWorld.

Anyone who knows me will also know about my passion for horses and in particular my own special Anglo Arab pony, Mr C.  To say my horse is spoilt is probably the understatement of the year but he’s provided me with such great times and we’ve achieved so much together, its only fair that I give him the best that I can afford right to the end of his days.

Whilst working at HorseWorld I’ve discovered that not every horse, pony or donkey gets this kind of love and respect, in fact it’s possible to say that some only see harm or disrespect until they perhaps get the opportunity to come to somewhere like HorseWorld.

One case that comes to mind is Maggie May who was a very serious rescue case.  Maggie was found running loose on a dual carriageway. She was emaciated and in foal and only two years old. Thankfully she was brought to HorseWorld.
After a long and slow rehabilitation, a lot of patience, understanding and love has turned her into a beautiful and settled little riding horse.  And happily, Maggie has now been rehomed to an experienced new loaner and with someone who will care for her and continue her education.

I know that Mr C will always have a loving and secure home with me but for all the horses that aren’t so fortunate, its lucky that HorseWorld is here to help.
The funds that I raise will help to benefit neglected and unwanted horses, ponies and donkeys.
