The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Pauline and Jen are having our looong hair cut short! We have recently found out about the wonderful work done by the Little Princess Trust - a charity which provides real-hair wigs to girls and boys throughout the UK and Ireland who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment. We found out about the charity through our friend and colleague Becky who recently found out that her beautiful ten-year-old daughter has leukaemia. We wanted to help in any way that we could and will be donating our hair to the charity and also fundraising. The initial target is £350 which is the cost (to the charity) of one wig for one child.

Jen says, "I have had long hair for my whole life so having it cut is quite nerve wracking for me. What will it look like? Will it suit me? but, you know what, I'm lucky to have the choice to decide so I'm doing this to help the little princesses and princes who don't have a choice."

Pauline says, "Like Jen I have had long hair since I was tiny (except one wrong hair decision aged 14!), so it is a bit scary, nothing like what the girls and boys who will benefit have to go through and it will grow again."
