Story

In honour of World Book Day 2011 my girls and I will be attempting to visit as many different libraries as possible over Half Term (19-27 February), all by public transport. In doing so we'll be supporting many libraries threatened with closure and also raising money for Book Aid International. Our target is 14 different libraries in 3 different counties. We will read a new story in each library and you'll be able to follow us on Twitter @playbythebook.

It would be great if you could sponsor us in our endeavours! My target is £75 and anyone, anywhere can sponsor us, knowing that all their sponsorship goes straight to Book Aid International. This is a really great charity, which aims to increase access to books and support literacy, education and development in sub-Saharan Africa. Last year they provided 507,787 new books to over 2,000 libraries.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Book Aid International and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now :-)
