Story

Welcome to our Buy a Brick Campaign!                                                          www.africaschild.org.uk

Our school Ndeeba Primary School in the slums of Kampala has 545 pupils in tiny wooden classrooms that leak water in the roof, have mud on the floor & where they are crammed like sardines trying desperately to hear the teacher & gain the knowledge they deserve to know to have a chance of making a better life for themselves as adults.

These children are amazing, like little sponges, wanting to learn so much. Spending time at the school is amazing, uplifting but also heartbreaking to see the conditions these children are learning in.  This is true of many schools in Uganda, in fact many places in the developing world.  We at the ACDT became involved with Ndeeba Primary in 2008 & since then have made a commitment to them to help them to the best of our ability.

What we need is a new school, on that is safe & clean & dry, with space to learn.  We do not have much land, so we need to build up approx 3 storeys.  This building will cost us at least £60,000 to build in brick, which for a school to house 545 children is not very much.

Please help us to help them!  Please can you buy some bricks?  Each brick costs just £1 We would be so grateful!

You can follow all our work at www.africaschild.org.uk

Thank you xx
