Story
Hi
It was all going well for the first 17 miles. I was right on target for my 3:30 finish and then it all went a bit wrong. Yes, I hit the wall. I double checked and I was definitely not still at home. I finished in the end, after a few miles of walking/hobbling, not quite in the time I was going for but still got there in the end, final time 4:12. I'm very glad to have completed it, there's always next year to get 3:30. I have to say it was a very very painful experience (and still is - walking is proving quite difficult at the moment).
Thank you very much for all the sponsorship I have received, I appreciate it a lot.
If anyone hasn't sponsored me yet, I'd still be very grateful for any donation, it doesn't matter how small.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cancer Research UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
If you want to do it the old fashioned way, I'd also be very happy to receive cheques at 52 Belgrade Rd, London N16 8DJ (cheques payable to David Fielder and I will forward it on) or cash. Thanks again Dave ps. I'll put a photo from the race up here as soon as they're available, hopefully it will be a photo from the first half of the race when I'm not looking too pathetic.
