Story
Come and see me make an exhibition of myself!!
I'm lucky enough to have been randomly selected as one of the first group of 615 participants for Antony Gormley’s One & Other, a project that will see a different person take their place on the Fourth Plinth at Trafalgar Square every hour, 24 hours a day, for 100 days.My slot on the plinth is at midday on Sunday 26th July. I wanted to take part in this project because it's a chance to show that, however little creativity you might think you've got, participating in this kind of thing shows that art really is for everybody. I'm planning to spend my hour on the plinth knitting. I've had a few ideas as to what to knit, but not made any decisions yet.
I'd like to use my hour as an opportunity to raise some money for two charities: the Leicester branch of The Samaritans, and the Hearing Voices Network. If you want to donate to The Samaritans, you're in the right place. If you want to donate to Hearing Voices, please donate to my PayPal account (go to www.paypal.co.uk and pay to lhorder@googlemail.com) so that I can make a bulk donation once their JustGiving page has been set up.
Please dig deep if you can! Or if you're more inclined towards personal support than support of the financial variety, come along and see me on Sunday (knitting needles optional).
Thanks,
Lucy
