About the charity : The Prostate Cancer Charity The Prostate Cancer Charity
In the UK: Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. 35,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year. One man dies every hour of prostate cancer. The Prostate Cancer Charity is the UK’s leading charity working with people affected by prostate cancer. We fund research, provide support and information, and we campaign to improve the lives of men with prostate cancer. We provide the only UK-wide prostate cancer Helpline staffed by prostate cancer specialist nurses. Our nurses offer free and confidential information and support to anyone affected by prostate cancer. The Prostate Cancer Charity is working towards a world where lives are no longer limited by prostate cancer. The Charity is fighting prostate cancer on every front - through research, support, information and campaigning.

Personal message:

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

The picture shows myself and Graham Urwin Midland Regional President at the launch of the project in front of Birmingham Council House on St Patrick's Day 2008.

I will be raising funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity by joining a team driving four vintage tractors all the way from John O'Groats to Lands End.

According to the RAC Route Planner, its a massive 851.85 miles - at least its down hill all the way! but at an average speed of something not much more than a brisk walk, its just as well. I will be crewing the star of the show, a 1946 David Brown Cropmaster owned and driven by Michael Clancy. Painstakingly restored from a rusty pile of junk to its former glory, it uses TVO (tractor vaporising oil) as its fuel, and can belt along at 14 mph - flat out and with a tail wind.

The Cropmaster will be accompanied by much more modern vehicles, including a 1958 international B450 owned and driven by Geoff Lamb, a 1957 Fordson Major owned and driven by Ian Snape and lastly a 1957 Fordson Dexter owned and driven by Ross King.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Prostate Cancer Charity will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
