Story
The Polka Dot Ladies, is a group of woman formed to raise money for breast cancer care. We know each other through the school our children go to.
Our member Claire, has breast cancer, diagnosed in May 2009 and finished treatment in March 2010. It has been a horriffic time and she has appreciated the support that has been available, personally and through organisations such as breast cancer care. To make matters worse her mother, also got diagnosed with breast cancer 4 months after Claire and her mum is still going through her treatment.
To aid Claire's recovery, she set the goal of walking the 10 miles at Harewood House, it is a focus for the future instead of looking back to the why me and the pity of what she went through. The encouragement of the other ladies makes this a fun and enjoyable experience.
Please dig deep and support us on our endevour of walking the pink ribbon walk. It is a harder challenge than Claire originally thought as her body is still in recovery!
