Story
So....before Christmas a friend (Debbie Jackson, the fastest girl in the known world) said, "Why don't you do the Bath Half Marathon with me on my birthday." "Marvellous!" I said, without thinking at ALL, and signed up. And now it's January, and it's Baltic outside and the reality is, it's all pretty hard work and I can't quite believe I agreed to it! BUT....my cheque has been cashed - I have to do it! So, on March 7th I'll be running 13 miles, which to some of you is just a jog round the park, but to me it means hiring a paramedic to run along side me in case of disaster! I had to choose one of the set charities so I'm raising money for and The Genesis Trust which helps homeless people in Bath. I never know what to do when I see homeless people - we're told if we give money it'll be used on drugs, yet to walk past seems just totally wrong. I'm thinking, if I can run and raise money for a homeless charity, that is in some way maybe, to do something to help out those who, frankly, must be TOTALLY freezing at the moment, not to mention experiencing all the mental anguish that goes with being homeless. Do contribute if you can, and if you can come along and cheer me along - all the better. We can then go for a drink afterwards and put all this nonsense behind us (the running I mean, not thoughts regarding the homeless!) THANK YOU for reading this and for your support, not necessarily financially, but as a wondrous friend/family member/passer by. Love Pollyanna
