Rosemere Cancer Foundation supports world-class care for the 70,000 people in Lancashire and South Cumbria currently living with cancer, by funding cutting-edge equipment, research, training, and patient welfare projects to make their cancer journey more effective, comfortable and stress-free.

Story

Ian, Mark and Darren Dawson, Stuart, David, Brian an Graham Eastham, Grant Ealand and Steve Lawson will be taking on the gruelling challenge of cycling from coast to coast starting from Tynemouth (South Shields) to Ravenglass (Lake District) over 3 days covering more than 174 miles.

The reason for this challenge is to raise money for a very worthwhile cause, The Rosemere Cancer Foundation. We are just a small group of family and friends who have experienced the loss of a loved one through this dreadful disease.

Over 8,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year in Lancashire and South Cumbria. They are treated at the region’s specialist Cancer Centre in Preston, and a network of local Cancer Units. But treatment is expensive and there is little left over in the NHS budget for non-essential items that may make all the difference to patients.

This is where the Rosemere Cancer Foundation comes in, raising additional funds for research, patient welfare projects, equipment and training to ensure the very best care possible, wherever patients are treated in this part of the North West.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Thank you in advance for your support.
