The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page. As you all know, I have undertaken the challenge of raising money for The Little Princess Trust, and have also decided to shave off my hair on the 2nd of June 2012 in order to donate what little hair I have to the making of wigs for children with cancer and alopecia. The shave will take place on Easter Sunday, but I will take both online and cash donations until the 6th of July.

The Little Princess Trust is a fabulous charity that does what I think is a great job in restoring physical confidence in children who have suffered from medical conditions that have caused hair-loss. Children who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments or from alopecia, often feel extremely insecure and self-conscious - more so than their adult counterparts - and this is added to the stress, both physical and emotional, from the ordeals that they are going through. The Little Princess Trust gives these children wigs made from real hair, and in that little action, one concern is taken away from the burden that they carry, and makes them feel 'normal' once again, without the stares of sympathy and pity on the streets.

After hearing about this charity and visiting its website, I decided that it would be worthwhile for me to donate my hair to the making of a wig for one of these children, and at the same time, get people to sponsor me and donate the money to the charity as well. We all know insecurity, and most of us know the physical sort. Well these children face that physical insecurity on a day to day basis, and this charity helps in what little way they can to alleviate that feeling.

So please dig deep and donate now, every little helps.
