Thank you for visiting Martin & Tara's fundraising page.

Two members of Prism's London office, Tara Benton and Martin Hancock, have entered as a Prism team in the EnduranceLife Coast to Coast Race, one of the UK's longest adventure races.  The race is over 2 days and runs from the northernmost point of the Devon coast, over Exmoor and Dartmoor, then down the River Dart and along part of the South West Coastal Path, finishing at Devon's southernmost point.  The 120 mile distance comprises a mix of fell and road running, on and off-raid mountain-biking and kayaking, and in the 2 previous years the event has attracted many of the top individuals and teams from the worlds of fell-running, triathlon/quadrathlon, mountain biking and adventure racing.

Tara has previously competed to a high standard in triathlon and Martin has this year done some fell running and adventure racing, so given their novice status, they are both a bit nervous (in a good way!) of the challenge that lies ahead, and therefore also training hard.  Apart from gym work and long distance cycle sessions, trips to run round Richmond Park and kayak training c/o Tower Hamlets Canoe Club are filling midweek evenings and weekends.  Tara and Martin are competing in a 1 day adventure race on September 2nd to test their endurance, navigation and decision-making and then it's full steam ahead for the main event!

The race is run to support an excellent charity, Sportability.  Sportability is a UK registered charity which is dedicated to helping those with severely disabling conditions which have resulted in paralysis, such as MS, stroke and spinal cord injuries, rebuild their lives through providing the opportunity to take part in sport and other challenging outdoor pursuits (such as sailing, gliding, SCUBA diving, archery, angling, quad-biking and a number of others).  Tara and Martin hope to raise as much money as possible through competing in (and hopefully completing!) the Coast to Coast Race and would be very grateful if you felt able to make a donation - either on a corporate or a personal basis - in support

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Sportability will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Please dig deep and sponsor us online

Many thanks for your support.
