19 November - Update!

Well, it's the day after the walk, and although we all have very sore legs and feet, it was a great day, and definitely worth the blisters! If you'd like to see some photos of our walk, please click here.

We set off  from Starks Park at 9.05 and arrived at East End Park at 2.30, just in time to go round the pitch collecting a bit more cash. At the time of writing, the total raised from online sponsorship and money given to team members and thrown into the bucket is £971.01, a superb amount! And with this webpage still active until mid January, there's a very good chance that we'll pass the £1000 mark soon - so if you saw us staggering around the EEP pitch, or if one of us handed you a promotional flyer along the way, there's still time for you to sponsor us!

The team would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who helped make this walk happen (and apologies to anyone I miss out) - the good people at DAFC (especially Martin, Tracey, Louise and Alec) for all their help in getting us to trackside before the game and promoting the walk through the stadium tannoy, Brian and Jason from DAFC.net for their help in promoting the walk online and arranging things with the club, Kingdom FM and Radio Scotland for giving us mentions during the week leading up to the walk, Mrs Superally and Parsull for giving lifts to Kirkcaldy at some ungodly hour of Saturday morning, Socks for providing us with a much-needed cooked breakfast before we set off, the man who agreed to take our photo outside Starks Park and seemed unphased by the fact that one of us was a gorilla in a tutu, Buttery Bhudda for meeting us in Burntisland, laden with a big bag full of hot rolls (you're a lifesaver sir!) and then walking with us to Aberdour, ex-Pars star Alex Smith (owner of the Coaledge Tavern in Fordell - much recommended, especially if you've been walking for 4 hours!), Craig Levein, Sammy the Tammy and Andy Tod for being good sports and willing photographees, David Laming for helping arrange for Pudsey to do the half-time draws,  everyone who gave us their hard-earned cash for such a good cause, Bex, Buffy, BTP, Socks (again) and Superally for making the effort to take part in the walk, and most of all PudseyPar for being a real man of his word and making this whole thing happen! Oh, and lastly, Gary Mason for rounding the day off perfectly with a last-minute winner for the Pars! Thank you all!

Our original message:

As a regular contributer on the dafc.net messageboard, Pudsey recently made a bold prediction regarding the likely result of Dunfermline Athletic Football Club's search for a new team manager - he felt certain that former Cowdenbeath, Hearts, Leicester, and (briefly) Raith Rovers boss Craig Levein was the man in line for the job. However his assertion that...

"if Levein doesn't come to EEP I will stroll e**e naked fae here to Starks Park,"

...has now come back to haunt him in a fairly serious way...

With Mr Levein opting to work for Dundee United instead, Pudsey's bravado has left him in a rather awkward spot - do the walk and risk freezing (or worse - it is Kirkcaldy after all...), or back down and lose any respect he had managed to acquire among his fellow Pars fans. Like the real man he is, he's opted for the first option, and will indeed be doing the walk - for charity of course!

With a username like that, there was a very obvious choice of which charity it would be - and so on Saturday November 18th (which just happens to be the day after Children In Need Day), PudseyPar along with as many fellow dot.netters as can be gathered will be walking the 14.5 miles from Starks Park, Kirkcaldy to East End Park, Dunfermline (yes it was meant to be the other way round, but there's a home game to be at that day... against Craig Levein's Dundee Utd!)

Sadly the 'law of the land' means nudity will not be a feature, but rest assured that Pudsey's attire will be unflattering at best! So please dig deep and sponsor this walk online!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to be a sponsor: BBC Children in Need will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Please sponsor Pudsey's Walk of Shame now - and thanks very much for your support!
