Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. We are trying to raise £5000 for Brainwave, helping children, between the ages of 6 months to 12 years, who have a brain injury, genetic condition or Developmental Delay. This is very close to our hearts. We are training to run the Isle Of Wight Marathon on the 4th October 2009
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Brainwave gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor us now!
15th May 2009 (Mario) Hey Guys
Just a quick update. We have entered into a 10km Race on Sunday in Bognor Regis. We are all very excited & trained hard for it. We will all be wearing the same sweat bands on our heads (nice blue FILA band) so if you want to come and support us please feel free.
The weather for the race will be rainy which is my favorite as it cools you down & gives you something to think about however James doesn't share the same feelings. He got soaked last night in the worthing 1 hour monsoon. ha ha
James is making amazing progress and is not sure about the head bands as wife Lindsey said he looked like " a fool ". Duncan is enjoying his new diet of seeds and berries and now feels more at one with nature.

JB: Training is going good for all of us; we have all run over half marathon distance. My thoughts seldom stray from the big one in October. It’s going to be an even harder challenge than we first expected (no iPods & we will be contending with hills steeper than any of us have trained on thus far).
It’s already so rewarding to think how far we have come, our shapes and fitness levels are improving week in, week out, and the money we are raising is slowly but surely rising.
I feel proud of myself and my good friends Mario & Duncan. We have come so far and we keep each other going, a united front running ultimately to raise money for this very special charity, but as the distance increase it seems we are running for something more than money, more than charity, more than unity. Maybe it’s because we are doing something that in truth, we never thought we would be able to do and now it seems we will achieve our goal with conviction.
I for one have never had to dig as deep as I am now, let’s see how the next 12 - 14 weeks pan out. Thank you again for all your support.
14th August 2009 JB: Just a quick update, training has been a bit tarnished with injuries, I have got very bad groin strain after a run from Sea Lane Goring to littlehampton and back (about 14 miles) I have rested it for a week and it feels a whole lot better. Duncan has now had 2 quarterzone injections in his heel but is still in a lot of discomfort. Mario is a machine and just keeps going. Nice training run booked in for Sunday morning same route as before. Will update again soon.
1st October 2009. JB: Sorry for the delay in updating. Only a few days now until the race, I am getting pretty nervous, I think with work and family commitments we have done all the training possible. I just hope my groin goes the distance. Thank you to everyone who has sponsored us. I will let you know how we get on!!!
6TH October 2009 JB: We only bloody did it!! Mario ran in 4 hours 25 James did it in 4 hours 56 we are so very proud please keep giving!!
