In the UK every week  (on average)  a baby is born with Prader-Willi Syndrome.... help us to help them  live a normal life as possible.

Despite increased awareness PWS continues to reduce lifespan.

Those with PWS do not have the quality of life we have.

Imagine always being hungry and being told to stop otherwise you will become obese and very ill as a result.

Imagine being unable to take effective exercise to stop this happening.

Imagine not being wanted on anyone’s team because of all this.

Imagine having to take drugs so that your body can grow properly Imagine not being able to take exams like your friends and class mates.

Imagine no one wanting to give you a job and retiring in your early twenties.

Imagine having to always be dependent on someone to intercede for you.

WELL THAT'S what it is like with Prader-Willi Syndrome.

Just read that "One in three cases of Prader Willi syndrome, a chromosomal disorder with symptoms that include learning difficulties, obesity and behavioural problems, is also likely to be misdiagnosed".

So, even more reason to sponsor our effort and raise the awareness of PWSA (UK).

All funds raised on my Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge on 5th June goes direct to Prader-Willi Syndrome Association.

Family, fellow Trustees, executives and friends of PWSA (UK) will be walking with me and the whole event is being supported by Travis Perkins Building Services. It's quite a challenge! We are walking a 25 mile circular walk starting & finishing at  Horton in Ribblesdale.  We will be climbing Pen-y-ghent (691m), Whernside (728m) and finally Ingleborough (723M).  During the walk we will be passing through Ribblehead and Chapel-Le-Dale.  The total climb is some 5,200 feet over moors and dales with some road walking.

The PWSA (UK) charity supports 1,000 people with the Prader-Willi Syndrome throughout the UK. The charities target for this year is to enhance this service by providing more local support and increased communcations to our friends with PWS and families.

The new PWSA (UK) Vision Statement is:

A world where PWS is not a barrier to a healthy and successful life.

We exist to improve the lives of people with PWS and their families, carers and all who work with them. We champion their rights and provide information, training and support to all involved. We stimulate research into the management and alleviation of the disorder.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
