Motiv8, in partnership with Tesco Extra is raising funds for the Excel Appeal - Excellence in Elderly Care - to buy a range of much needed equipment for older and frail patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

The Motiv8 Lift 3 Concordes Challenge will take place on Saturday 25th June (10am-5pm) in the foyer of Tesco Extra on Hardwick, King's Lynn.  Three British champions are taking part along with a group of volunteers using specialist machines provided by Motiv8.  The ambitious event aims to lift the equivalent weight of 3 Concordes = 236,100 KGS with deadlifts, squats and bench presses!

The Excel Appeal aims to raise £50,000. The hospital wants to buy:

  • digital reminiscence therapy software to support patients with dementia
  • unobtrusive falls prevention monitoring systems
  • specialist recliner chairs to facilitate physiotherapy
