The Nehemiah Project - Ride & Raise Challenge · 22 June 2008 ·

We are a charity that works with men to transform their lives & break the cycle of drug or alcohol addiction. They are also often homeless, have mental health issues or a criminal background. Our Supported Housing programmes address the root causes of addiction & help transform lives!

Story

On Sunday 22nd June a team of over 20 of us from Queens Road Church (and some extras we've convinced to sign up) are taking on the challenge of cycling 50 miles from Guildford to London to raise money for The Nehemiah Project. Some of us have taken part in the event before, others of us are still coming to terms with exactly what we've taken on and are hot footing it to the nearest cycling shop to buy the padded shorts. But we all think it's worth it The Nehemiah Project is a South London based charity which helps people overcome life crippling addictions and in doing so transform their lives. Many of us know people whose lives have been turned around through the project and have seen for ourselves the difference fundraising can make. As one cyclist said: "For me, taking part in the bike ride is a really practical way to support an excellent project that helps to restore lives and families. Being able to be a part of this in a small way will definitely make all the aches and pains worthwhile!" Please sponsor us. It's easier than cycling 50 miles and you also get to laugh at us hobbling around in the days after the event. Thanks for your support. The Queens Road Team
