Thank you for visiting our fundraising page, it has been developed in memory of our much loved father, husband and friend, Quintin. He was only 56 when diagnosed in May 2008 with a high grade malignant brain tumour, known as a Glioblastoma Multiforme (Glioma). He had been feeling 'under the weather' for a few weeks and only when he collapsed on May 23rd 2008 and had a subsequent CT scan was it clear that it was something more serious. After a short battle of less than 3 weeks, Quintin passed away in the early hours of June 12th 2008, and is sadly missed by everyone.
Around 2,000 people a year in the UK are diagnosed with a high grade glioma and incidences of brain tumours have risen by 30% over the last 30 years. At present there is no cure and the cause of them is unknown.
Research into brain tumours remains grossly under-funded, however great work is being carried out by a few charities one of which, Brain Tumour UK, is dedicated to funding a programme of research, support, education and awareness.
We very much welcome your support in Quintin's memory.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. Brain Tumour UK gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. Thank you for your support.
