RIDING FOR EDUCATION (R4E) is a 10,000km ride by horse back across India, Pakistan and China. My goal is to raise ₤100,000 to educate as many childen in the poorest parts of each country through ActionAid International.  To them their future is the most important thing and an education is the key to that.  Opening up a new school, educating a child is only the start.  Once a child is educated they give that education back to the community.  Knowledge recycles itself.  It just needs to start.

One out of every two illiterate people in the world live in South Asia.  In India, Pakistan and China alone, over 600 million people cannot read or write or make informed decisions.   Whether they be slum dwellers, girls, gypsies or handicapped, an education enables adults and children alike to live a healthier life, be aware of their human rights and place destiny in their hands, and not in the hands of others.

ActionAid works directly with the poorest communities of all three countries to establish schools, and keep existing ones open.  For many minority groups, an education is only available through non-formal schools and ActionAid partners with hundreds of local organisations in each country  to run such institiutions.    Every donation to the ride goes to a central account held by ActionAid that is then split equally between each country.  Every child is deserving and it's my intention to grant as many a head start in life as possible. Your vote counts and so does your donation.   Please help today and help a child to 'challenge the future'.

Thankyou

Stephen McCutcheon

If you are a UK tax payer, ActionAid receives an extra 28% in taxback on top of your donation if you choose to 'gift aid' it.  Gift Aid is a win-win situation as it adds a third onto your donation at no extra cost to you.
