From May 30th to August 17th 2012 I'll be running, every day, from the East to West Coast of the USA. 3360 miles in 80 days, an average of 42 miles a day. One third on trail and two thirds on roads. Crossing through 14 States.
Of those 14 States only 4 have no current death penalty legislation, in 2010 the US ranked 4th highest for state executions behind China, Iran and North Korea. The case of Troy Davies in Sept 2011 reminded me of how truly bizarre and unjustified this is.
So why support the work Reprieve do?
They are lawyers, fighting to get justice for those who otherwise could be put to death by the state for crimes they haven't committed. It's not cuddly or cute, there's no faces of starving children in Africa or donkeys with one eye but it matters.
You might not agree, I'm doing this for a cause I believe very strongly in and thankfully we can agree to disagree - in which case please support my run by donating to your own charitable cause.

Working on the frontline, we provide legal support to prisoners unable to pay for it themselves. We promote the rule of law around the world, and secure each person’s right to a fair trial. In doing so we save lives.
