Race Across Wales · 8 March 2013

Last year alone, 1.4 million women experienced domestic abuse in England & Wales. Behind every statistic is a woman whose life has been shaped by control & fear. Women's Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse and create a safer world for women & children.

Story

Here we go again, the 2013 Race Across Wales (R.A.W.)

This is something I have wanted to do for a while now and might just finish me off completely.

Team R.A.W. (Dan Howard, Tim Nicholls and me) Will be setting off from the English/Welsh border on April 27th and heading West, passing through Llanidloes, finally reaching Aberystwyth hopefully before it gets dark. The route is self-led, around 46 miles and not entirely flat as you can imagine!

Dan is an seasoned ultrarunner so I will be relying on him for advice, motivation and possibly a piggyback towards the end of the day.

Tim will be our support crew and driver. He will hopefully be fuelling us along the way and transporting us around the country. Legend.

I have decided to try and raise some money for Women's Aid, a charity that a friend works for and who does brilliant work for vulnerable women and their families right across the country.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
