Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
On Sunday 26th April I will be running the London Marathon and will be raising money for the charity "for dementia".
I know times are tough so please don't feel obliged but if you would like to support me and raise money for a good cause, you'd make me very happy!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: "for dementia" gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. for dementia works in partnership with the statutory, voluntary and independent sectors to provide Admiral Nurses for carers of people with all forms of dementia. Around 700,000 people in the UK are diagnosed as having dementia (that's 1 in 5 people over 80, and 1 in 20 people over 65). Most of them are cared for at home by their families and friends - at least in the early stages of the illness - so there is a huge need for Admiral Nurses. If you'd like to find out more you can visit the website http://www.fordementia.org.uk/. I promise the charity is much better at supporting those with dementia than at web design… Thank you everyone! Rachel
About the charity:
Admiral Nurses are qualified nurse specialists who offer individual psychological and practical support to carers from the point of diagnosis and for as long as necessary. They also provide consultancy and advice to other professionals working in the field, and work to raise awareness of the immense stresses and strains that caring for someone with dementia brings.
