Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

On Sunday October 19th 2008, I will be running the Amsterdam Half-Marathon, with Martijn my boyfriend, in memory of my cousin Andrew James Marsh.

Andrew had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).   It is not a well-known condition and I want to do all I can to help raise awareness of it and the devastating impact it can have on families.  Andrew was diagnosed when he was three years old; he died not long after his 18th birthday but managed to pack a great deal into his lifetime, bringing happiness and joy to his family who still miss him terribly.

I am running to raise funds and awareness but I am also running for my Aunty Susan, Uncle Jim and Kathryn to show them that Andrew is not forgotten.

Please, please, please spare some cash to help raise funds for research into this devastating condition. Thank you.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Thank you for your support.
