Ape Action Africa is passionate about primate conservation! We rescue gorillas, chimpanzees and monkeys, victims of the illegal bushmeat and pet trades in Cameroon. We have over 280 primates in our care and we can't do any of our work without your help, so your donations are vital! Thank you!

Story

Important announcement - 17th October 2009

I'm really disappointed to tell you  that I have injured my leg and I am unable to run. I have therefore had to make the difficult decision to withdraw from the marathon, which is so hard as I have been training for a year.

However, my sister Jessica is still carrying the flag for us and she will be in New York running her heart out to raise money for our project! I am so grateful for all the support you have given me and I would really like your support to go to Jessica....we were planning to run together and I'm so pleased that at least half of the team will still be there!

I am also planning to run a marathon in Cameroon next year so I hope to be back in training as soon as possible!

Thank you once again for your support - Jessica has her own Justgiving page if you would like to sponsor her directly...thank you!

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!

I'm running the New York marathon November 1 with my sister Jessica to raise money for Ape Action Africa.   It's even more exciting that the United Nations Environmental Program has designated 2009 as THE YEAR OF THE GORILLA.

I manage the project in Cameroon and we desperately need your help to be able to continue to look after the orphans in our care, like Nona. She arrived at Ape Action Africa in a terrible condition, close to death,  but she is now a happy , healthy young gorilla lving in a huge forest enclosure with 9 other gorillas. That would not be possible without supporters like you!  For more information about our work, please visit our website at www.apeactionafrica.org

This will be my first ever marathon so I need lots of encouragement to help me get through my training in the tropical rainforests of Cameroon!

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Ape Action Africa gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!  Thank you!
