ASICS Reading Half Marathon 2008 · 2 March 2008 ·

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

We're (very) occasional runners who will be attempting to stagger round the 13 miles of the Reading Half Marathon course on March 2nd 2008 in support of Pancreatic Cancer UK. Jo was diagnosed with this particularly fierce form of cancer in late 2006, and is cheerfully confounding doctors by still being here and intending to remain so for the foreseeable future.

Pancreatic cancer is almost unique in that the dismal 5 year survival statistics (2-3%)have not improved over the last 40 years. We are running to help try and change this, and to celebrate our wonderful mother/sister/sister-in-law.

Please dig deep and sponsor us online. Absolutely no amount is too small or too large! And if you are shy, you can choose to donate anonymously.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Pancreatic Cancer UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
