Story

Hello lovely lovely kind and generous people!

In a moment of madness, we appear to have signed up for the Momentum Scotland Whitewater Rafting Big Day Out - eeeeeeek!!

From this day forth we will be known as Team On The Rocks!!  Go team!!!!

This involves us rafting down 4.5miles of the Rivel Tummel, towards Loch Faskally, in Perthshire, in wild waters, with big waves, jaggy rocks, and lots of swearing!

For those who know me well, the thought of me whitewater rafting will be highly amusing!! To say I am nervous may just be the biggest understatement ever, I can't even swim properly!    I am hopeful that I will allowed a rubber ring and armbands, as well as my life jacket!  I am also slightly concerned that my hair will get wet, and I imagine I won't be able to plug in my straightners on the raft - what will happen to my fringe?  It will be curly.and kinky..........Och well, its all for a good cause!

We are involving ourselves in this daredevil event to raise funds for Momentum Scotland.

We all work for Momentum Scotland in their brain injury service in Aberdeen - I am a Community Support Officer with Transitions, and I work with people who have an acquired brain injury*, and their families and carers throughout Grampian, running support groups, one to one sessions, brain injury awareness training and a load of other things!!!  My lovely team mates - Angela, Caroline R, Caroline P and Karen work  in Pathways - and  provide specialist training and support for adults with brain injury who want to return to employment.
