I'm braving the November weather to run the Grand Union Canal Half Marathon on the 9th November. For those of you who have known me for a while you will realise that this is something I said I would never do. Yet here I am!

So if I am going to put myself through this gruelling experience, I'm going to make sure its for a good cause, which is Alekto.

One of my friends worked for PBI in Colombia and now works with some of the human rights lawyers that are protected by PBI through the organisation Alekto. The lawyers work with victims of massacres and torture, indigenous people and internal refugees who have fled their homes. Because of their high risk work, the lawyers are under constant threat which is why they are protected by PBI teams.

The lawyers will be visiting the UK in the autumn on a trip organised by PBI and Alekto so you can come and meet them then! All the money raised will go to PBI and Alekto to support the human rights lawyers.
