Rachels Story
Over Christmas Rachel became ill with Sinusitis which lead to abscesses on her brain. She was admitted to Leeds General Infirmary where she had two operations to remove the damaged part of her brain and part of her skull. She was in intensive care for 12 days where she had everyone very worried as she was extremely poorly. She was in a coma for a few days and as she came out of it she could only move her right arm and eyes.
She was then moved to Ward 48 where she made gradual but amazing progress with the help of all the fantastic team that work on and with the Ward. By 1st February 2010 Rachel took her first steps, she was discharged Friday 19th February and has been making steady progress since.
We would like to raise as much money as possible to show our recognition and appreciation for the amazing work done by all the staff who helped us all through this very difficult time.
Rachel is working extremely hard towards being able to complete the walk and is hoping to rejoin her friends at Woldgate College in Pocklington as soon as possible.
