Story
The Duchy Marathon is a Cornish event, taking place in Redruth on Sunday 8th March 2009. Being a complete novice, this is a massive challenge for me! For many of you who know me, the fact that I'm doing this will be a TOTAL SHOCK! But I'm determined to reach my goal, not least because this is such a great cause.
Three of my grandparents had strokes, and I saw their lives change completely. Last year I worked for Connect's Cornish project 'Access to Life' and on a daily basis I worked alongside fantastic, committed people who have a communication disability (usually after a stroke) called aphasia. Connect works together with people with aphasia, to help provide opportunities and activities such as befriending, conversation groups, network groups and training professionals. Your donation could help some of these activities to continue.
This charity does a brilliant job of supporting people with stroke and aphasia to get back into life -so please give some dosh and help them continue!
Thank you so much!
UPDATE: I WILL BE RUNNING THE DUCHY 20 (20 miles) INSTEAD OF THE MARATHON THIS TIME, DUE TO ILLNESS INTERRUPTING TRAINING. HOWEVER THIS IS STILL A HUGE CHALLENGE - PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY!
