Story

125 Miles for 125 Years

Swim 2.82 miles Bike 78 miles Run 44.7

http://nspcc125miles.blogspot.com/

This year the NSPCC celebrates 125 years. I am swimming, cycling and running one mile for each of those years to help the NSPCC continue their work to end cruelty to children.

From April 5th to August 30th I will be competing in three road races, one aquathlon and four triathlons to swim bike and run 125 miles. I have been training hard since Christmas and (much to the disgust of my friends) have temporarily given up alcohol... come on surely that alone is worth a donation!! If that's not enough check out the daft clobber I've got to wear.

This is why I'm doing it.......

.....The NSPCC carry out fantastic work to help children who have been neglected and abused. The charity runs a Therapeutic service in Brighton Grove in Newcastle which is in constant need of funds to continue working with children and young people who have suffered neglect and or abuse.

Every year ChildLine (a helpline service provided by NSPCC) receive over 2 million calls. Sadly the NSPCC can currently only answer about 66% of calls attempted. This means that every year there are approximately 680,000 calls which go unanswered due to lack of funds and resources.

It costs £4 for the NSPCC to answer a child's call - "What Price to Protect Children"

Please help me to help the NSPCC to answer every cry for help

Please help me raise as much money as possible to help the NSPCC continue it's work for another 125 years. Every penny you donate goes directly to the NSPCC - none of the races I am competing in have been paid for by the NSPCC so there is no admin or entry charges to cover.

Visit my Blog at http://nspcc125miles.blogspot.com/  for updates on my progress and don't forget, this challenge runs until September 27th, every little bit you can donate really does make a difference.

Do send this page to everyone you know! Even if it's just so they can laugh at the picture of me in a silly suit....

Thank You!!!

P.S. If you really can't afford to donate you can still help by wishing me luck and keeping your fingers crossed for a fast and injury-free season.
