Story
31 Oct 2008
We've raised a grand total of £578 to help people in poverty- a big thank you to everyone for all your generous donations and support, and to EFC for giving me the opportunity to do all this.
This page will continue taking donations for a few weeks more, but I'm officially hanging up my boots- I think I've done more running around collecting the sponsor money than I did on race day itself!
Nonetheless, its been a great experience and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
Cheers,
Rachid.

DONE IT! 2 hours 25 mins (yep, I finished with the grannies at the back!). https://www.blacksheepsports.co.uk/franchised/results.aspx?raceid=627&emanagerid=42
Thanks a million to everyone who supported me, whether it was through sponsorship or good luck messages- it really did motivate me during the gruelling last 3 miles.
To the colleague who left the message "hope the sun shines"- I'll ask you to pray for me if I ever buy a lottery ticket- boy did the sun shine: scorchio!
To the muppet who advised me to eat 2 bowls of pasta for carbs the night before- pls mention the small print next time: brown pasta, not white- I woke up with a serious headache! (love u really).
Over £300 raised so far thanks to all you guys, and they're still trickling in- keep'em coming...
P.S. I'm now collecting for my physiotherapy costs, so if you didn't donate previously, now's your chance!
Cheers,
Rachid.
Hi, thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I'll be running the Royal Parks Foundation London Half Marathon to raise much needed funds for the Charity I work for, Elizabeth Finn Care. The 13 mile run takes place at 10am on Sunday 12 October 2008, starting and finishing in Hyde Park.
Your donation will enable Elizabeth Finn Care to continue providing essential support to people experiencing the devestating effects of poverty.
As punishment for continually being late for work, I have been forced to run the 13 miles through rain, sleet, and snow! If I don't raise the £150 bail money I'll be forced to run again next year. Please remember: not only are you helping to support people in poverty, you're also saving my legs from further torture!
So please sponsor me now...
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Elizabeth Finn Care gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Thanks for your generous donation.
Race day on Sunday 12 October will be for everyone, so make sure you bring the whole family down. With a fantastic variety of activities for everyone including the Brakes Food & Fitness Festival, the Charity Village and much, much more. The event will be as green and environmentally friendly as possible and will celebrate the amazing wildlife and heritage of the Royal Parks.
