A few months ago, my boss asked me to take over the relationship with our company's charity partner Barnado's - the leading childrens charity in the UK. Barnardo’s believes in children regardless of their circumstances, gender, race, disability or behaviour and has countless programmes to train, develop, and offer them opportunities for a better future.

I have big shoes to fill as just last year Wates raised over 100K GBP in support of this brilliant charity through various activities including a trek to Kilimanjaro. Hence the idea for Everest Base Camp in 2013 was born... and since I organized it, I suppose I have to go!!

I have to admit I am petrified and very excited all in one. Plus it's a great excuse to lose the final few pounds it will take to squish into that amazingly shiny dress I bought for my 30th bday (see attached pic!)
