Story
Hello friends,
I will be taking part in a 30 hour famine for World Vision.
This famine will be taking place from 12pm Friday 9th May until 6pm Saturday 10th May.
World Vision is a Christian charity and one of the world’s leading relief and development agencies, currently helping more than 100 million people in nearly 100 countries in their struggle against poverty, hunger and injustice, irrespective of their religious beliefs.
As part of the UCLAN Christian Union's famine, I will be going 30 hours without eating, as this is how long many adults and children go between meals in the world's poorest countries.
World Vision’s 24 Hour Famine will be raising money to help find over 2000 children in the city of Chennai and give them back their voice, rights and future. Often those children are found living on the streets, begging or forced into child labour… in danger and unknown.
World Vision is setting up a Street Children Prevention and Rehabilitation programme in the Indian city of Chennai.
At various times during the 30 hours, we will be spending time praying for these children, and children across the world who are suffering. We will also pray for our Christian brothers and sisters in these situations as they seek to share Christ's love as they are provided with the resources to help those in need.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: World Vision Uk will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
