We shaved our heads (to a 'number 2') on 7th September 2009!

Many forms of mental illness can cause (or provoke) self-harm, which can include cutting or shaving one's hair off. As we - Tracey & Andrew - have had first-hand experience of mental illness, and with family and friends who have also suffered and been through treatment, we decided that MIND was the most appropriate charity to support, and our 'event' was a sponsored head-shave - including a full beard removal from Andrew's face!

The facts behind mental illness are astonishing: one in four of us will experience a mental health problem at some point in our lives; each year more than 250,000 people are admitted to psychiatric hospitals and over 4,000 people take their own lives. Mental health problems can affect anyone – with the impact not only on the individual but also families, friends and colleagues.
