Mark Leckie, David Fletcher and Craig Johnstone are raising funds for CHAS by cycling the entire length of the UK. Any support you can spare would be gratefully received by all of three of us, and as you may be able to tell from our story so far, it will definitely give us some much needed support on our very long journey ahead.
Stay tuned for details of whisky tasting events to help fundraise and gather awareness, and if anyone can offer accomodation or supplies on the way up, or would even like to join us on a leg, then contact us at whiskycraig@gmail.com

Thanks again,

Chapter 1
It was a couple of months ago. Dave was turning 30, and like most people he decided he needed to make his stamp on the world. He was going to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats before he was, well 31.
Mark and Craig were enthralled by his tales and stories of how he had reached this decision and this milestone in his life, and both were eager to support. Hell they even decided to take part! Mark had found a grey hair and Craig was fast approaching the quarter century, their time was clearly running out.
So after a couple more beverages to oil the brainwaving and thought process, they set a provisional date and went on their merry ways. They were going to cycle from the South to the North before the Edinburgh Festival 2010, they'd fill in the details later.
Months passed, Craig completed the Edinburgh marathon, Dave and Mark set about getting miles under their belts and they constantly discussed dates and route and all other things concerning such a gruelling challenge.
So here we are. It's June 14th 2010. All three are still working full time, Dave has just bought a travel guitar, Mark a new TV for the World Cup and Craig still han't got a bike. It's going.... okay I suppose.
Chapter 2
July 6th 2010
Craig's bike arrived. A £200 racer from Tesco. Good frame, good gears... rubbish everything else. 50 miles in and his pedal sheared the thread on his new crankset. Not good. So he sent it back to Tesco.
Meanwhile Mark left to cycle the Alps, as you do, and we think Dave may have broken his ribs.
Craig still hasn't received his second bike.
Chapter 3
August 19th 2010
Arthur's Seat has been our main stay for training, (Craig got his new bike!) but a few thunderstorms near Gifford, a flat tyre in Dunbar and a pint or two in various locations have all led to our bodies being in peak physical condition. This is particularly useful as we may have to remove our clothes for accomodation, food, donations or all three...
Chapter 4
August 25th 2010
It's now the day before the prologue. We're bricking it. Breathable socks have been purchased. Now we all just need to shave our faces to save those extra grams. (We won't be shaving legs, as the west country seem to shun those of a hairless variety...)

See you in the North!
