Story

Hi,

Thankyou for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Later this month we will be climbing Mt Kenya in order to raise money for Sewa International. With me is my son Shiv, sister Seema and around 50 others from all over UK and from all walks of life.

Though Seema, my daughter Radhe and I did Kilimanjaro 3years ago with Sewa and as a group we raised over £60k, this year, my son who does not want to be left out is one of the youngest in the group at 14years.

Mt Kenya at 4985m is the second highest in Africa and very challenging as it is steep and will take us 5days (This means no shower for 5 days!!!)

Shivraj once asked me why do I have to raise money, why cant we just go and climb the mountain. I said "when you wake up in the morning and getting dressed do you ask yourself what I should wear today or try and match the top with the bottom? Or when you go downstairs for breakfast do you have to ask yourself which breakfast cereal you fancy?" He replied "yes". So I said "well..how would you feel if you didnt have that choice of clothes or breakfast. How would you feel if you only had one pair of shorts and thats it, and you didnt know whether you are going to get any breakfast" So he paused for a while looked at me and just smiled.

We all get involved in our day to day life and the stresses of modern day living that we forgot those who have nothing.

So please help us to help those who are less fortunate than us. As before we are raising funds for various projects in Kenya helping children, the elderly and the disabled.

Your donations WILL make a difference.

Thank you so much for taking time to read this and for your support.

Kind regards

Shiv, Seema and Raj
