6 Villages Nepal Orphanage Cycle Challenge - 19th-21st September 2008
I am one of a number of cyclists helping to raise £50,000 to build an orphanage for destitute children in Nepal. Yapton Free Church, together with schools, churches and families within the 6 surrounding villages are already supporting the welfare and schooling of 30 Nepalese orphans. But with many more in dire need, we now need to build a purpose-designed orphanage.
Amanda and I have been sponsoring a child in the orphanage for a number of years now. So we know that this is a worthy cause.
The 106 mile taxing challenge along the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne will take 3 days to complete. The route is rough and very undulating. There is about 4150m (13600ft) of ascent and descent on the way. Many of our riders in their 50s and 60s. We need your support - and so do these orphans in Nepal. Please pledge whatever you can afford. Every penny will go directly to building this orphanage.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Yapton Free Church gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Many thanks.
