Story

****CHANGE OF PLAN...... TWO BUNGEE JUMPS BOOKED FOR SAT 1ST OCT 2011****

It's that time of the year where I start to get itchy feet and I want to do something crazy for the sake of others. So....... in order to raise money for my said cause, I will be ascending 160ft before doing TWO bungee jumps on Sunday 18th September 2011!

Why am I doing this?

With your help I hope to reach my target of £2500 to help the East African Famine Appeal. As some of you are aware I'm fasting this month, which means no food or water from sunrise to sunset. Almost 18 hours without even a drop of water has made me appreciative of what I have. Imagine not being able to have anything for days, even weeks! This is the true reality for the people and children of East Africa.

More than 12 million people in Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, and the newly-formed Republic of South Sudan have been left in desperate need of food, water and emergency healthcare because of one of the worst droughts in 60 years. Hundreds of thousands of people have fled Somalia due to the drought and conflict, parts of the country are now afflicted by famine.

How can you help?

By sponsoring my 'crazy jump' you are saving a life, every £100 raised will provide food packs, which feeds a family of 5 for 30 days. A total of 125 people who will recieve food packs for a month.
The pack includes lentils, rice, flour, cooking oil, salt, sugar, milk powder, dates, baby biscuits. You will also be providing clean drinking water (not part of the food pack) and a nutrition paste called Plumpy 'nut. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plumpy'nut)

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please, please help me to reach my target and make my jump, a jump for joy! it would mean a lot to me and the people of East Africa.
