At the end of my 100km walk, I have so far raised over £500. I am still accepting donations. There has been interest in the project from the Bo'ness Journal, so I am hoping to raise even more money for Bowel and Cancer Research in the coming two weeks as a result.
Thank you to everyone who has donated so far, be it online, in person, or at the pub last Friday. I am very pleased to have reached and far exceeded my target - with some luck and continued generousity, I may be able to double it!

The charity I am walking for is the UK charity Bowel and Cancer Research (www.bowelandcancerresearch.org). I will be walking 100km from Monday 31st August to 4th September, 'rambling' for research in various locations around Bo'ness, Linlithgow, Bo'ness and Blackness.
Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK (the second most common cancer in women). About one in 20 people in the UK will develop bowel cancer in their lifetime. Around 16,000 people in the UK die from bowel cancer every year.
Meghan believes in finding new and better cures for cancer. She believes that it is everyone's social responsibility to do something to raise awareness, fund research, and supprt those who are battling disease every day.
Unfortunately this opinion isn't always shared, and research into bowel cancer and related bowel diseases Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn's Disease and Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome remain extremely underfunded.
Meghan's 100km is merely one small step towards a cure. But every journey must begin with one small step.
