My story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.

Well after surprising everyone by actually finishing the 2008 Mazda London Triathlon, especially my dad who had serious concerns about my well being in attempting such a challenge, I have again been lucky enough to be invited to be part of the "To Transplant And Beyond" team for 2009.

In fact, having purchased the paraphenalia necessary for this 'sport' for the last triathlon: bike, bike shoes, bike hat, wetsuit, goggles, trisuit, heart monior, subscription to 220 magazine etc. I thought it best to try and get some use out of them and Nicky and I have possibly gone a bit overboard and are signed up for other triathlons.

Eton Sprint 16th May,
Hillingson 1 24th May
Mazda Blenheim Triathlon (Sprint) 7th June
Windsor Triathlon (Olympic)14th June.
Hillingdon 2 28th June
Eton Bananaman 3/4 Olympic 14th July

This should mean that we are in excellent physical shape (yeah right) for the 2nd August and will slash last years time, our current personal bests.

But why are you doing this you may ask......

I got involved in this triathlon lark through my partner who works as a Transplant Coordinator at Harefield Hospital. She knows John Fisher, who in turn runs the charity To Transplant And Beyond via the website www.heart-transplants.co.uk.

I do therefore know something of the complicated, stressful and emotional process that those on the Transplant List have to go through before, if they are lucky, they are matched with a donor organ and have the chance of a new lease of life.

I was therefore delighted to be involved with this project to raise money for John’s charity to help support those on the transplant waiting list, as well as those who have recived new organs, while also raising awareness of the Organ Donor Register.

So if you would like to sponsor me on behalf of John’s charity please read the bit below, if you are unsure, then please take a look at his website and think about what a difference the gift of an organ can bring, and whether you would like to find out more about the Organ Donor Register.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: To Transplant and Beyond gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now,
