Story
Welcome to the fundraising page for the Ramshackle Rallies Team Penguin of the Apocalypse!!!
The team consists of Matt "Maverick" Goodman, Neil "Fatboy" Gwinnutt and Pete "The meat" Bardell.
Ramshackle is the epitome of absurdity. The willing participants must place their trust in a hundred quid's worth of scrap metal and set off on an epic banger rally covering 1500 miles (double for us as we're driving back too). One hundred teams will compete in what promises to be the craziest banger rally on the European circuit before joining in with 40,000 others lobbing squashed tomato's at each other.
The rally lasts for four days as teams compete in the daily challenges to score points and simply put the team with the most points at the end of it all is the winner.
We start in Calais in France before heading south taking in Annecy, San Remo, Perpignan and finally ending up in Valencia. That's around 1500 miles through, and although there are always a few surprises! We then turn around and drive back again!!
Our weapon of choice is a 189000 mile Vauxhall Cavalier 1.6 "Envoy" which is undergoing the igloo treeatment!! Here's some details...
Make : Vauxhall Cavalier
Model : Envoy (that’ll be the lowest spec available then)
Engine size : 1.6
Mileage : 189,000 and rising!
Price paid : £100
Name : Dave
Originally red, Dave has been painted white using Focus Exterior gloss applied with foam paint rollers!! We then added the details using brushes!!
Oh yes, nearly forgot to mention… We’ll be dressed as penguins!

Our "offline" total includes money raised at the Ouse Valley River club open day, the Performance Vauxhall show and the Vauxhall Bedford Opel Association day at Billing Aquadrome, all of which were attended by the igloo! Thanks to all for the generous donations and thanks to the Vauxhall owners network www.vauxhallownersnetwork.co.uk for the space on the stand and support. Thankyou also to RG Taylor car body repairs of St. Neots for the loan of their recovery wagon to retrieve the car from it's previous home.
Many thanks for your support.
