Having conquered the London, Paris and the New York Marathons, I've now decided to go vertical, in that I will be aiming to summit Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK, on the 21st June 2008 up to a height of 4,409 feet.

Why am I doing this?

Many of us are very fortunate to have our parents. Losing one or both parents is traumatic for any child. In countries where war, famine or poverty is a part of everyday life, millions of children are orphaned and left to struggle for survival.  Many sleep in sewers and look for food in garbage sites.

This charity trek is being held to raise money for Muslim Aid’s Rainbow Family. This programme focuses on entrusting orphans around the globe into the care of the most suitable host families regardless of race or religion.

Please donate anything you can, in third world countries your money will go a long way, perhaps to just provide clean, fresh drinking water.

Rainbow Family is one where children are supported and given the opportunity to live and work for a brighter future regardless of their race, religion or gender.
